Badminton of good quality and suitable speed is very important to the smooth progress of the game and the taste of fitness. The quality of badminton can be judged from the following aspects:
(1) The appearance of the badminton should be neat, the wrapped leather should be smooth, without wrinkles, the feathers should be white and the angle of the inserts should be consistent;
(2) The feather shaft is slightly thick and straight, and the glue is uniform. It must be firm and elastic when held by hand, and cannot be deformed;
(3) When trying to play badminton, its flight stability is better, the rotation forward does not shake, and it does not drift, and there should be no obvious difference in the speed of the shuttlecock in the same barrel.
Now the manufacturers that formally produce badminton have their own set of standards for the speed (weight) of the badminton. Generally, it will be marked on the top cover of the ball cylinder: 76, 77, 78, 79 or 1, 2, 3, 4. The smaller the value of the label, the slower the speed of the ball, and the larger the value of the label, the faster the speed of the ball. The weight of the badminton is light, the ball speed is slow, and the weight is heavy, the ball speed is fast. The badminton sphere is very light, and the speed of the shuttlecock is determined by the weight of the shuttlecock first; secondly, the temperature, the temperature of the air and the altitude of the playing place all have a greater impact on its weight. In general, the summer temperature is high, the humidity is high, or the high altitude should choose a lighter weight badminton. In winter, the temperature is low, the climate is dry, the humidity is low, or the badminton with a heavy weight should be selected.
